You would not believe some of the things we get asked in the test room. My favourite story went like this: “don’t you think Pudsey bear sends out a terrible message to people, especially children, with eye problems?”
I responded with a quizzical look “how is that then?”
“Well, he has had a patch over his eye for years and no-one seems to be able to fix him”
I tried to explain that he was only a teddy bear and didn’t really need two eyes.
“Send him to a dolls hospital to get a new eye. You must tell the BBC to find the nearest and get it done as soon as possible. He needs a new eye”
I suggested we could arrange this but unfortunately I did not know what colour of new eye to order.
“Bears eyes are always brown. Call yourself an optician!”
